Hybrid wind and solar
Harness renewable energy day or night
Aura’s wind turbines combine industry leading technology and advanced engineering to create an efficient, compact and powerful energy generator.
Aura’s vertical axis wind turbine – powering the future today
Aura’s vertical axis wind turbine shines in its ability to generate more power per square meter than solar panels, making it a highly efficient choice for renewable energy generation.
Australia made turbines
Designed, tested, and made in Australia by Aura Clean Energy.
Power Density
Aura’s wind turbines redefine efficiency, generating more power per square meter than traditional solar panels.
Advanced technology
Incorporating maglev technology for zero friction connections and double bearings for low vibration, the turbine achieves high efficiency with an extended lifespan.
Eco-Friendly Design
The use of aircraft grade aluminium reduces weight. And contributes to the turbine’s environmental sustainability.
Space-Efficient
Batteries are ingeniously housed in the base of specially engineered poles, creating a self-contained energy system with a minimal footprint.
Easy Installation
A bolted flange connection ensures easy and safe installation.
Hybrid Wind and Solar Power
Our Wind turbines can be combined with solar panels, creating a versatile and efficient power generation solution. This system capitalises on the advantages of both energy sources, ensuring a more constant and reliable supply of clean energy, tailored to overcome the limitations of traditional renewable systems.
Hybrid Power Brings Mighty Impact
Round-the-clock energy
Solar panels thrive during peak daylight hours, while wind turbines often catch the breeze as the day cools into evening and overnight. This natural cycle means that when solar energy production wanes, wind energy picks up the slack, ensuring continuous power generation.
Day and night power
Did you know that wind speeds tend to increase at night due to the differences in land and sea temperature? This phenomenon makes night time an ideal time for wind energy production, complementing solar energy’s daytime generation.
Adapting to weather
Solar output dips on cloudy or stormy days, just as wind turbines might spin less in calm conditions. However, these very weather changes often mean increased wind speeds, boosting wind power production when solar power decreases, and vice versa. This natural balance ensures consistent energy output, come rain or shine.
Seasonal synergy
While solar energy reaches its maximum in the summer, wind energy often has its moments in the spring and autumn. This interplay allows Aura’s hybrid system to adapt to the earth’s rhythms, balancing energy production throughout the year and ensuring a steady power supply regardless of the season.
Efficiency in numbers
Integrating wind and solar power doesn’t just make environmental sense; it makes economic sense. By harnessing these complementary energy sources, Aura’s hybrid system can achieve higher overall efficiency rates.
Case Study:
Illuminating the Broadwater Parklands, Gold Coast
In a landmark project that underscores the potential of hybrid renewable energy in public infrastructure, Aura Clean Energy partnered with Gold Coast City Council to reinvigorate the lighting of the Broadwater Parklands.
The project involved the design, supply, and installation of a renewable energy lighting system, marking a pivotal step towards sustainable urban development. The project encompassed pedestrian and cycling paths, a newly developed playground, and a car parking area, all aimed at enhancing the parkland’s accessibility and safety through eco-friendly lighting solutions.
The core of this project was the deployment of 53 all in one solar lights alongside 4 hybrid wind and solar powered light clusters, which together powered an additional 25 lights. This strategic mix not only leveraged the strengths of both solar and wind energy but also ensured a consistent and reliable source of illumination for the parkland’s diverse needs.
Substantial Cost Savings
Hybrid systems shine as the distance from the grid increases.
Beyond 50 meters, hybrid energy becomes the most cost effective choice from both day 1 of the project and for the long term.
